Dr. Mark Evans has been practicing dentistry for over 23 years. He was born in Colorado and moved frequently due to his father’s career in the United States Air Force. He grew up spending time in Spain, Italy, Ohio and then settled in Tennessee in 1979. Dr. Evans graduated from Chattanooga Christian School in 1985. He attended Covenant College, the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga and is a veteran of the US Army Reserve. Dr. Evans attended the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He is active within the dental profession gathering extensive continuing education world wide. He is a member of the ADA (American Dental Association), a fellow of the AGD (Academy of General Dentistry), a member of the AAID (American Academy of Implant Dentistry), and is a diplomat of the ICOI (International Congress of Oral Implantologists). In 2012, Dr. Mark D. Evans received the highest Diplomat status within the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI).  Dr. Evans retains hospital privileges at Blount Memorial Hospital. He is an active member of River Oaks Community Church and enjoys serving through missions at the Lost Sheep, Trinity Dental Clinic in Maryville and internationally on mission trips. He is a proud husband and father. He is an outdoor enthusiast enjoying whitewater kayaking, backpacking, camping, snowboarding, beekeeping, and is an avid runner.



Mitch Prater is joining Natural Smiles after serving 25 years in the United States Navy as a dental officer. A Blount County native, he is a 1983 graduate of William Blount High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee in 1987.

Dr. Prater attended the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1991. In 1993, Dr. Prater was commissioned as a lieutenant in the United States Navy Dental Corps. During his naval career, he served at various duty stations to include Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, and Marine Corps Base Camp Foster in Okinawa, Japan.  He has served on humanitarian missions in Thailand, Kenya, and Liberia. He also deployed aboard USS Guam and USS Harper’s Ferry. He completed his naval career holding the rank of Commander and serving at Naval Support Activity Mid-South in Millington, Tennessee. While residing in the Memphis area, he was an active member of Bellevue Baptist Church where he was involved in various mission projects to include the Christian Mobile Dental Clinic and the Mid-South Mission of Mercy. Dr. Prater is excited to be moving back to the area and is looking forward to working on his father’s cattle farm in Louisville, hiking with his family in the Smokies, and serving as a volunteer for local missions. He and his wife, Kelli, have four children.




Mandi is a registered dental hygienist. She is from Maryville, Tennessee and graduated from Hiwassee College in 2012 with a degree in dental hygiene. She is committed to our community and volunteers her services as a hygienist at Trinity Dental Clinic.  She has traveled as far as Narobi, Kenya to help educate their population on oral health issues. She has been a valuable addition to our team. Mandi is an active member of her church and has many hobbies and talents including riding her motorcycle and snowboarding.  She loves being outdoors and enjoys spending time with her husband and family.



Amber was born and raised in Etowah, TN. She graduated in 2008 from ETSU with a BS in Dental Hygiene and has been actively working in that field since. Amber began working at Natural Smiles in 2016. She currently works part time while going to school to pursue her dream of becoming a dentist. She enjoys outdoor activities including snowboarding, mountain biking, and hiking.



Wendy is a Registered Dental Hygienist. She graduated in 2006 from Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri.  Wendy entered the dental field in 1998 when she joined the Arkansas Air National Guard. She currently serves as the Dental NCOIC at the 134th Medical Group at McGhee Tyson. When she’s not working Wendy enjoys spending time with her husband, Matthew, and children Jax, Hollyn, and Caroline.  As a family they enjoy exploring East Tennessee, beach vacations, going to church, and working around the house.  Wendy feels truly blessed to be part of the Natural Smiles team.



I began my dental career in 1999 as a Registered Dental Assistant. I became a Dental Hygienist upon graduating from Roane State Community College in 2005. With my great desire to learn and do more in my field, I attained my Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from ETSU in 2016. I have served in a volunteer capacity at different dental organizations in the area and am involved at a local and state level within our professional organization. I love serving my patients on a clinical level and getting to know about them and their families. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and doing many outdoor activities including hiking, jogging, and paddle boarding just to name a few. My husband and I currently live in Seymour and collectively have 5 adult children and a fur baby, Max. We are active members of Sevierville First Baptist Church. It is a blessing to be a part of the dental team at Natural Smiles.




Laurel is an expanded function dental assistant with more than 32 years of experience. She grew up in Florida and moved to Tennessee when she was 16 years old. Laurel started her career in Dentistry while still in high school, developing her skill set and honing her gifts for genuinely caring for and getting to know her patients. She has been with Natural Smiles for more than 22 years. Patients enjoy her vibrant and caring personality, frequently requesting her. Laurel is exceptionally gifted in explaining procedures and helping patients overcome their fears. She is  happily married with a husband and daughter. She enjoys spending time with her granddaughters, reading and playing with her two miniature Dachshunds, Chloe and Tucker, and her Yorkie “Lil’ Bit”.

Mandy is an expanded function dental assistant with more than 22 years of experience. She grew up in Florida and moved to Tennessee over 10 years ago. She has been with Natural Smiles since 2003. Mandy has been married for over 22 years and has three children. She enjoys exercising, reading, watching her kids play baseball and going to the movies.



LeAnne is an expanded function dental assistant with over 20 years of experience. She has lived in Maryville all of her life. LeAnne graduated from East Tennessee State University in 1988 with a Bachelors degree majoring in merchandising with a minor in marketing. She studied art as well and excels at drawing and painting. After a career in retail, she returned to school to study dental assisting. She is thrilled with her profession. LeAnne has been with Natural Smiles since 2006. She is married with three children. LeAnne is an active member of her church and enjoys all sports, exercise, yoga, spending time with her family, painting and beach vacations.



Joy is a new addition to our team at Natural Smiles. She completed her dental assisting training at the Dental Learning Center in Maryville, TN. She is excited about her new career in dentistry.  Her warm and bubbly personality puts patients at ease. Joy is an avid runner and works hard at training to run marathons. She attends church and volunteers her time to help others at Trinity Dental Clinic in Maryville. She is truly a Joy to be around!



Chrissy is an expanded functions dental assistant with over 15 years experience. She loves working in the dental field and learning new things about dentistry. Chrissy feels blessed to be a part of the Natural Smiles team. Chrissy enjoys baking, decorating, attending games and school events for her children, spending time with her family and cheering on her Alcoa Tornadoes! Chrissy and her husband Di'Andre, Sr have two children, Di'Andre Jr. and Daziyah. Chrissy and her family attend High Praises Church.




Debbie is a native of East Tennessee. She has been with Natural Smiles since October 2002 and loves her job. She cherishes the friendships of the ladies in the office and appreciates the Christian environment in which she works. Debbie enjoys working with the public and helping patients with their dental and insurance needs. Getting to know our patients is important to her. She is married, a loving mother of two, and a proud grandparent She is a pianist at her church and is active in ministries there including the music ministry, women’s ministry and community garden.



Jamie is originally from Livingston, TN and moved to Maryville in 1992 to attend Maryville College. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business in 1996 and worked for 15 years as a business manager. She joined Natural Smiles in April 2012. She is married and has two children. Jamie has completed 2 marathons and several half-marathons. She is an active member of her church and enjoys running, turkey hunting with her husband and spending time with her family.



Edye is a native of East Tennessee and has worked over 19 years in business administration. She is a former dental assistant and is very knowledgeable of dental procedures  having a unique perspective to offer patients while helping them understand their recommended dental treatment and financial obligation. Edye enjoys cooking, traveling, riding motorcycles with her husband and spending time with her family.
